Our Services: Dr. Parker specializes in alternative veterinary care for horses, dogs and cats. We are a specialty practice and we perform vaccine titers, 3 year rabies, heart worm and coggins testing for established clients only. We suggest you have a general practitioner for surgeries & emergencies.
How Can We Help Your Animal? The principles of vitalistic methods such as osteopathy, homeopathy and proper nutrition are based on the fact that given the right circumstances the body can heal itself. Dr. Parker focuses on getting your animals body to respond to the best of its ability by giving you the benefit of her education, experience and expertise in these areas.
Before Your First Visit: Please read our website thoroughly, gather any previous labwork or xrays you have and fill out and bring with you the History Form.
What Can You Expect from the First Visit? Dr. Parker typically spends from 45-60 minutes with each new patient. During this time she will go over your animals history including current complaints and previous problems. She will perform a thorough osteopathic examination and proceed with the holistic treatment she feels is best. Modalities she uses include homeopathy, herbal remedies, nutritional changes and environmental reviews to name a few. Before leaving you will be given a concise plan of action and will be expected to participate in the process of bringing your companion to full health. Also check out our classes to further your own education!
How Much Will This Cost? New Patients or those that have not been seen for over a year can expect to pay between $180 and $250 for a visit (puppies and kittens are less) depending on what supplements if any are needed. Returning patients pay between $75 to $150 based on the severity of the disease being treated. Outcall travel fees are additional and average $30 to $60. (outcalls are restricted to horses and multiple animal households within our area)
How Often Will IMy Animal Need to be Seen? This varies from patient to patient, but in general a healthy younger animal needs to be seen only once every 6 months and an older animal with more chronic illness every 3 months. Please realize it may take 1-3 visits a few weeks apart to stabilize your animal in the beginning and this cannot be predicted without first evaluating the animal in person.
What Types of Diseases and Problems Do You Treat Successfully? Dr. Parker treats everything you expect conventional medicine to treat. The success varies with the individual immune system and the amount of pathology already established in the body. It is always worth bringing your animal in for an initial evaluation and at that time she will tell you her honest opinion about the likelihood of cure.
